Okay for all the 'I never test, dose, change water people this will look pretty silly but:
I've been logging my test results in a little book and it's nice to be able to look back and see any trends.
I also make a note when I add something new (filter media, etc.) with the date.
Works well when I want to check back on something but not so well when it's something that needs reminding.
I just signed up for a free email service and I think this will make it super easy.
For now every 5 weeks I'll get a reminder email to change the GFO. I'll test first of course and if it seems I can go longer I'll adjust the interval on that.
I was going to add a reminder for light bulbs but then I remembered I got LEDs now. :D
So I just set up up to remind me every six months to increase intensity by 2% since that would be equivalent to the average loss of intensity.
Anyway If you are bad about forgetting stuff (maintenance/bulbs/etc.) those email reminders might be nice.
I am using memotome.com but I am sure there are tons of them to choose from
