John was in an accident recently, so if you have problems getting in touch with him that is why. Not sure what other support he has in running the shop, so someone might want to check availability of stock. If he has some stuff in, it would be a great way to show support.

I only emailed him today, so I haven't received a response yet. Hope he makes a speedy recorvery. I'll keep everyone posted when I hear back from him. Karin, I'm a little past Stone Oak now, not too far out.

Heard back from John and it seems he's up and running. My order will come out to ~$32, so $168 to go to get free shipping. Please post or PM and estimate to me so we can see how close we are to the limit.

Okay I feel the need for Chitons. They need to be Express Mailed so I am in for a bunch of chitons as long as the free shipping is Express Mail to a San Antonio location.
Teeb
Wed, 16th Mar 2011, 11:55 PM
Karin, I'm getting a few myself, so Express is a necessity. John really pushes them, they must do some serious algae damage.

And they are cute. Extra points for cuteness. Express to my location still takes TWO days so I hope your 'past Stone Oak' is still in town, right?

I'll be in for about $25 worth of critters and macro. I don't really need many algae grazers, but I just love to watch them work. I could probably use a few more nerites to replace the ones that have made the great escape. They get tossed back in when I catch them, but I suspect the dog has made off with a few.

That's outside the tank, hanging upside down on the front ledge of the stand. It crawled out the back (the only opening) down the back of the tank glass, and around to the front of the stand where I spotted it. I felt a little bad when I tossed it back in, like I was thwarting Nemo's escape.

I am in for about $50 worth of stuff as long as they have in stock what I want at the time this group order starts.
In fact if you want to start sooner, I am ready sooner. My main criteria still is that it ships to an address that constitutes a 1day delivery for Express. :)

We can possibly move it up a little. I still don't have water in my tank is my only concern. I'm hoping the biopellets will aid in a quick cycle and might be ready to go in a couple of weeks. Let me know what you think.

I'm having to hold off a little bit since I had to order a new tank. Tank should be here and drilled by next weekend. I'm using dry rock and dry sand with biopellets and MB7, so I'm hoping for a very quick cycle. I'll keep you posted.

Well, we're about $160 away from free shipping. If no one else is intersted, we can all split shipping to help out. Shipping should come out to less than $10 split 3 ways. If ya'll are in, we can close it out on Friday to see if anyone is interested and place the order on Monday. I'm currently unemployed, so accepting the package won't be a problem.

So I could swing by after work on tues.? I would get a couple snails if that is the plan. How far out are we on free shipping? I think my order will be at least $60. Am I missing Astrea snails or are they out?
Teeb
Thu, 9th Jun 2011, 05:22 PM
Yup, delivery by 3:00p at the latest. USPS is generally here aroun 10am. I don't think I've seen Astrea snails, I think the Nerite's are probably the closest to them that they offer.

Thu, 9th Jun 2011, 10:32 PM
I really like reef cleaners' stuff, but I don't know if I can justify $10 shipping on $20 of product.
There's got to be more people who want to participate!
Come on everyone, there's got to be some cool inverts you're interested in, or maybe need to update your clean up crew?
Teeb
Fri, 10th Jun 2011, 09:59 AM
Kevin, could you confirm your total for me. That should put us within about $100 of free shipping. I may pick up a few emeralds, which would bump my order up by about $20. We're getting close

Where is SA are you? I could use some nassarius snails, limpets and macro. My only problem is I work until 6:00 Tuesday at USAA and I need to get home to feed my seahorses. I am off on Wednesday.

Getting some traction on this, first page updated. Cheryl, I'm on 281 a little north of Stone Oak. I do have a small spot in sump that I could release a CUC and still be able to get it out. They may be ok floating until Wed. morning. I'll be available all day. I'm not sure if order is going in tomorrow, but we did have a few people want to get in on it and should qualify for free shipping. For the people who have comitted, when do you want to place delivery. We can still do tomorrow or maybe make Wed. a cutoff. We're all in it, so toss in your vote.

Once you have a total on what you need, let me know. I'll contact John and let him know we're placing the group order. You order exactly what you want and pay John directly indicating you are with the MAAST group buy. He bags everything up per each person's order and ships it in one box. This is definitely happening this week, Wed. at the latest. I'm submitting payment to John today for my order and let's go for getting it ordered Wed. for a Thurs. delivery.

I'm off Thursday, so if it's delivered then I can pick it up anytime.
If it's Wednesday, I'd have to come by in the evening, around 9pm. If that's too late for you, I wouldn't mind having my stuff left in the bags overnight.
When should we place our orders? Is free shipping a sure thing?

Steve, I paid $57.00 today - order complete.
Just a suggestion, we could meet at the Walmart in Stone Oak where Mr. Cob's Corals meets for drop off in the evening. That's Mr. Cobs Coral's, a great business to buy awesome corals at killer prices. LOL.
Anyway, either Wed. or Thurs. works for me, I just thought I'd throw that in there, cause I have to pick stuff up there and it's easy to find. But if it's too much of a hassle no biggie, just let me know when and directions. Thanks for setting this up!

Cool, free shipping is confirmed. Once you've paid, please PM or post so I can keep track. I can probably meet off 281/1604 to make it easier. We're up until about 10:00p so anytime before that is fine.

What are you having trouble with? If you placed your order and got confirmation, make sure you added a note about being part of the MAAST group buy. Then you'll wait to hear from teeb on when the order will be in and when you can pick it up. If you're not sure your order was placed or you forgot something, just email John from reefcleaners. He's super nice, typically responds really fast and I'm sure will help you with any issues you have.

Ya mine was kinda messed up. I got a ton of dwarf cerith snails (ordered 100 and got 200-300+), and only one large nerite snail and a bunch of small ones(ordered 30 large). My tank looks like a LFS snail tank right now.

Just wanted to say "Thank You!" to everyone who participated. As cheap as John's pricing is, even his reasonable shipping charges seem to double the the price of an individual order. For those of you that that had problems with your order, please contact John, he's proven to be excellent in handling any mixups. It was nice meeting those of you I hadn't met and good seeing those that I have.
