I bought a GBTA a couple of weeks ago and he moved around a lot. I thought he finally found a spot he liked cause he hadn't moved in a couple of days.

Well I woke up to a funky smell and first started looking for a floating fish or for one on my floor. Then I noticed something in my powerhead, and yes it was a chunk of the anemone still in there.. But the rest or most of it is completely gone.

I got the little bits out of the powerhead and was glad it still worked. I didnt see any more of it in the tank but will look better when the lights come on.

Question is, is there something I should do? I am sure a water change wouldnt hurt.

A good sized water change, some carbon, and maybe a poly filter pad.

As said above but also if you have a skimmer then I would skim pretty wet as well.

Everything is pretty much closed up like normal, the lights are still off.. My tube anemone is still wide open, everything seems good.. Fish are out, waiting for break fast which is usually in about a hour.

Is your skimmer going crazy? This is not typical but my feeling is when those lights turn on you may have some problems

It filled the lil external reservoir I have attached to my skimmer over night.... never does that, usually takes awhile... threw it out and its about a quarter filled again.

This sort of thing has crashed a tank before and wiped out all the fish so it can turn serious quick. Definitely do a big water change or even a couple of them, remove what you can find of the nem and run some carbon.

+1 to that I have seen huge systems crash to things like this. However most of them have been to more toxic nems but trust me it can happen with a gbt

Wish me luck.
