You need the SL1 to plug in a probe.
The temperature sensor plugs into the powerstrip but the pH probe goes into the SL1 unit. You do not need the Digital Aquatics probe if you already have one.
I am using the digital aquatics probe on my big reef but am using a pinpoint brand probe on the seahorse tank. They both have the same connector thingy

this is an SL1

If you buy any Reefkeeper package above the basic the SL1 is already included though

that is a great deal!

just in case you already have the base unit and are thinking 70 bucks really stinks consider this: the SL1 can also accept the auto top off kit (starts at around $15, the version I got was $24) so you can really expand this into other things besides temperature, ORP and pH too. It has 2 outlets for switch applications.

Yeah I already have the base unit so all I need is the module
