Whoa.... Definitely not! I have 5 BTAs (and numerous anthias) in my reef tank and never a problem. How was the anthias' health lately? How long have you had it?

Sorry about the loss of your fish.

I've had a carpet anemone eat my scopas tang before! Never seen a BTA do that...probably munching on a snack that floated by.

must have been dead all ready, never seen a bta catch a healthy fish. I have mini carpets that are sticky enough to hold on to stuff

well looks like a bta, guess it just got lucky and the anthias died and drifted to it.
