Is there such a thing as to much water flow for a tank? The reason I'm asking is because when I get my tank back, I am going to be adding a Seio M820 that I had got a while back to it. There is currently 2 Koralia ones in there right now which I'm going to keep in there with the Seio M820. I'm going to be incasing the Seio M820 in an Acrylic so only the top is open for water to spill over into. I'm going to cut a whole in the front so the pump can shoot the water out. What do you guys thank? Is this to much water flow for the biocube?

I'm not following you on the encasing in acrylic. Where do you plan on placing the Seio? This by itself is an enormous amount of flow for my biocube. It is of course about double the Seio by itself, so I would say that the Seio is just fine.

My tank has a Maxijet 1200 for the return pump with a hydor flo blowing straight forward at the glass, another Maxijet 1200 with a hydor flo on the right-side glass blowing across the tank to the left side, and a Koralia Nano blowing behind the rock-work. I get good surface agitation because of the Hydors, and no detritus buildup behind the rocks because of the Koralia.

I want to upgrade the size of the Koralia, and drop the Maxijet in the display area for an Aqueon 500, and reolace the return with something with as low wattage as possible, while retaining as much of the current return volume that I have. Eventually, it will all be replaced with an MP10. I think you have a good combo there, just don't point max flow directly on anything.

EDIT: What are you doing for a return pump? Does that mean you have 4 powerheads in your unit?

That's cool. I'm thinking of putting my Quiet One 4000 return pump that I got for the 120 on the Biocube as well. It's rated at 991 GPH. It might be a little much but not sure until I try it.

Well when I say encasing in acrylic I mean putting the Seio in an acrylic type box kind of like a wave box would look but the pump would stay on and not turn off and on. I just want it to look slick and not see all of the pumps. I can post a picture later of my idea. Do you have a picture of your setup or a video?

Here is the idea I had for the Seio. Im going to paint the box black to hide the pump from viewing. Ill cut a whole in the front for the pump end to stick out.
