Hello All -
I purchased this setup from Ace (Mike, not hobogato) back in May of 2009, and have thoroughly enjoyed having it in my office ever since. Unfortunately, we're juggling offices and I don't have a spot for it at my house, so I need to pass this along to someone else.

I'm not as aquarium savvy as most of you, so this list is likely lacking, but hopefully this gives you some idea of what I've got:

Tunze Wave Box
2 x 250W MH setup (third ballast, lamp and fixture include, but ballast doesn't currently work)
Sump
Refugium w/light
Protein Skimmer
Two Fishes PhosBan Reactor
Turbo Twist (UV)
Multi-Color Angel
Desjardinis Sailfin Tang
All Live Rock, mushrooms and leathers
Electronic programmable timer for lights, wave maker, refugium lights, etc.

The deal includes the tank, base and top as well as all fish, coral, live rock, sand, etc.

I don't want to part this out. I'd like to sell it to someone that appreciates the hobby for a fair price just like Mike did for me. He sold it to me for $850 in '09 and I added the Wave Box, custom canopy, livestock and a number of other things - I'd like to pass it along to the next person for the same price Mike gave it to me, so $850 takes it.

Tank is located at 4500 Lockhill-Selma (Just inside 1604). We'll need to move the tank after-hours or on the weekend as it's in a business and we can't interrupt daily operation. I'm glad to provide manpower (granted I'm pretty wimpy), but I don't have a truck. We rented a U-haul when I moved it here and that worked perfectly.

Wow, id love to have this thing. Its just what im looking for at a great price.
What do you think this thing weighs full of water? What about Empty?
I think it would be tough to make it all the way down here without killing or breaking anything.
I have a big power inverter built into my truck to plug the thing in to keep things circurlating.
Interested in a partial trade for a guided bay fishing trip out of South Padre?
Thanks
Capt Jeff

I have no clue how much it weighs, but considering salt water weighs ~8.5 pounds and we're talking 150 Gallons, it's way more than I can lift. We moved the entire setup from Mike's house in a U-Haul, and it took four guys to lift/move the glass portion when it was empty. I bought a couple of those 40 Gallon trash cans alongside a bunch of 10 Gallon containers in order to transport the sand, water and rock. Everything lived just great. We the contents out of the aquarium for about 10 hours total, so it would be longer going to Padre, but...

I'm guessing a local buyer might be a better option. Thanks, doug.

No problem. Figured it would be a real hassle to try to move it down here. Good luck on the sale. Someone is going to get an awesome setup at a great price.

This is a great tank and deal, don't know if you sold it yet? I asked my wife and she shot me down hard. A little history this is a custom oceanic tank made by what is now DSA. Although it has a center brace it is made from starfire glass (cross brace only) so it does not slow down any light. I helped Mike carry this thing upstairs in his home, I would guess 300lbs?

300lbs is probably a good guess, and certainly not an exaggeration. We had four guys carry it down the stairs at Mike's house and it took every bit of energy we had!

It hasn't sold yet... Lots of people want me to part it out, but seeing as it's in my office, I need to get it sold as a single sale as my CEO wouldn't look too kindly to a broken-down tank with pieces (and smells) all around.

$850 is more than fair, so hopefully some one will be able to provide it a home. Worst case, I suspect someone could buy it and part it out and make a couple hundred dollars...

If anyone wants to buy it to part it out...I'd like the GSP if you don't want it. I don't want or need the rocks. I'll just peel it off the rocks.

wow, just seeing this. this is an awesome tank, and has grown anything ever stocked inside it. Im sure Doug is as sorry to see it go as I was to sell it to him. this price is an absolute steal!!! you have made some awesome improvements since buying this Doug. the wave maker alone is worth 3/4 of the asking price...

Awesome deal. Someone is going to be happy as all get out. After the 200, I won't even try to ask my wife about another tank in the house!
