That's too bad. :(
I've been back twice since it changed hands and the last time was kind of disappointing for me too so I haven't been back in awhile...

Sorry you had that experience! There are plenty of other good stores out there. This place used to have an awesome reputation here is SA and in Austin. Maybe one day it will get back to that point.

Weird, I just called them to check on a coral and the guy was polite and patient - explaining when the next shipment comes in and when to find out what will be in it. Also I picked something up last week and the guy was cool and gave me a good deal. What time of the day did you swing by and they weren't open? Sign on the door?

Course it only takes one employee to ruin the image of a place - happened to me at another LFS a few months back - but that place just straight out stinks LOL.

Hopefully they will talk to the employee and straighten things out.

Also, hope your emergency issue is taken care of. Like Chris suggested, emergency forums could help (if you need it).

I walked in there the other day while the owner was in there flirting with the new workers he hired
He didn't help me at all and blew me off so i walked out...
A few months back he sold me a tang but it wasn't what he thought it was so that's saying something also

That is actually really funny because the same thing happened to me... I was in there needing some help but instead this kid was hovering all over this girl near the clams... I actually tried asking him a few questions but you could tell the girl was more interesting than the money I would had spent. Maybe they just don't need the money right now. Maybe they are in need of other things than money... Oh well, I actually went closer to my house and picked up what I was looking for there. Not a good way to run a business if you ask me...

Glad to see you got help elsewhere.

Just saying.

LOL well whether or not they work on commission is irrelevant to me, a small business like that I would assume should feel a sting by losing a sale that size. Pollys took great care of me and the guys at Aquarium Designs were helpful as well. Pollys had a better price on the tank and it kept me from having to transport far, its only 10 minutes from home or so.

I went with the 250D. I know its uber expensive and more can be done with a sump. But in my case at this time this was the best set up for us. I am in and out of town a ton with fishing the tournament trail and I dont want to risk something like this happening again. The water through the floor though easily fixed is not something I want my wife dealing with when I am on the road for a month.

Couple that with the only way to address it being tearing the whole set up down and this was just logical for us. I will miss the setup its gorgeous and has run flawlessly till now. I have had insane growth from the light setup and the stand is really a furniture like piece. But the new tank is a bit smaller and fits better in a different space. We will get part of our living room back.

The tank is listed for sale already and there is a breakdown of the fixtures. I will prob part it out eventually as no one ever seems to want to spend the coin on a ready made setup....Funny thing is I would never build from scratch again...its more cost effective...

Oh and the 3$ piece that cause all my issues has already been repaired.

Pics of the new setup later this weekend....sad part is I got so mad I tore the other one down and never took a picture.

I have the smaller version 34Max and it's a breeze to take care of...The Red Sea Max is a quality line and really clean finish you'll really enjoy the ease of it and not having to ever worry about flood damage....

If I had to guess I would say it was his mother, she comes in and I guess open up when someone else is running late? Hopefully he reads this post and realizes he needs to improve

Weird, I went for the first time the other day and I liked it. Even mentioning to the guy, I am lucky there not closer to me.... Even though he said he was low on inventory, I liked the selection and the layout of the tub of corals... Pricing wasn't bad either...

I will go back, it's a shame it's a little to far from me...

I love my RED SEA MAX 130D...I am building a refugium for it right now...Speaking of the store, I agree it hasnt been the same since Jeremey sold it. The tanks are not kept up at all, and the prices for the same thing differed on the day you go in. I dont think I have seen as big and so much aiptasia before.
