My 62 blew a line and I have to tear it down and move it to dry my subfloor.

I am just going to take the tank down and set up something small and more managable for when I am gone for tournaments.

I am sick right now but I need to find a tank and stand today. Also if anyone has any sand they want to get rid of as I really dont have time to mess with the stuff in my tank,

I will replace any sand you can give me.

Also may need to rehome a fish or 2

Don't forget about the equipment library. As a charter member, you are eligible to borrow items from MAAST's donated collection of equipment. When Mike's 75 sprung a leak, we ended up setting up a couple of temporary tanks until we could come up with a more long-term solution. We borrowed a couple of items from the Equipment Library to do so and that really saved us a lot of running around, a lot of headaches, and a lot of money!

Chris I sent you a PM I have a 55 gallon tank and stand you can use until you find something permanent. Its not drilled but i have 2 or 3 hob filters you can use and you can use your koralias for water flow. LMK! If not I can also coral sit for you if need be..

There was a 20- 30g in the equipment library that I used, along with HOB skimmer. Just keep up small water changes and you should be okay. Shout if you need anything.

Hey all I just bit the bullet and upgraded so I will be working on it here shortly. I think I have a home for the aggressive corals for temporary, and I know I can get a bunch of my stuff into my little tank which has been cycling now for oh 14 weeks or so lol.

I bought a big red sea, starfire glass etc etc. Its a gorgeous set up and will work great, however the price was hard to stomach so you will see the pieces of my old set up for sale soon. It was a line that broke not the tank, nothing wrong with the setup I have but I go out of town sometimes for over a month. This new setup will be much more user friendly for my wife as well as much more failsafe than what I have now.

Thanks for all the offers and kind words.

Sad part is I got so mad I just tore 85% of the other one down and NEVER have I taken a pic of the tank. Oh well life goes on lol.

Ill get some pics once its up tonight....Will this work?

I have 50% new substrate and im gonna take 50% from my old tank. I understand it has potential to minicycle again. However I have had it sifted pretty good as of late by the worlds most over achieving dragon goby.
?
I have kept 90% of the water and im hoping I can get away with just doing a transfer on my stuff. ideas I have never had to do anyhthing like this and never cycled a tank less than 3 months lol.

You will get a small cycle on your sand but nothing to worry about. Diatoms and maybe cyano. With same water, your rock shouldn't even notice a difference (rock die off being the big cycle problem in newly cycling tanks).

the best way to do it from what I've learned in experience and from Gabe is to go with 100% new sand, and keep at least 50% of your old water, as long as salinity of new water matches your fine. I just transferred my tank not to long ago without disturbing sand in tank I purchased and still got a pretty good cycle. last year I tried keeping about half my sand and the cycle was horrible lost a lot pods and other verts in 48hours. your old sand is holding a lot of gunk and as soon as it disturbed its all released.
