Ok, so I dabble in non-aquarium DIY projects on occassion. These two items were part of a DIY home theater sub that I built about a year ago. The ported box I made for it was about 6.5ft by 2ft by 2ft (double MDF weighting in at over 300lbs!). Needless to say, my wife got tired of stairing at the monstrosity and I was forced to scrap it. I now have two smaller 15" subs in it's place.
Both the sub and amp are built like tanks. It can be built around a sealed or ported enclosure and I'm happy to share the information I downloaded to build spec'ed boxes of either style. The Dayton 1000 watt amp paired well with it (with the gain turned down quite a bit, of course). Plenty of clean power for the sub, and since it was turned down, it ran VERY cool. I'll get pictures for both posted up tomorrow, but here are the websites for each so you can check out the specifications.
Dayton 1000 watt (at 4ohm) rack mountable external amp (http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=300-810) PENDING
(this is the older model, thus discontinued. But I wanted to get you the correct information)
Exodus Audio 15 inch Tempest-X Subwoofer (http://www.diycable.com/main/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=652)
(Can also be used as a Car Audio sub)
Both are in very good condition. Fish geek special... $200 for the amp and $125 for the sub, or $300 for both.
If you have any questions about these or the Definitive Tech speakers in the other post, PM me or reply to this and I'll be happy to answer them.
