LaMotte test kits

Does anybody have any experience with these test kits? they seem pretty good but just not sure if they are as good as it appears. Although I do like the testing increments and the fact that they have color standards to compare to. So thoughts?

I love the alk test kit!
I prefer the Salifert over the LaMotte calc kit.
Haven't tried the others.

And once you get the first kit, you can order refills instead of buying the entire kit again.

thats what I saw and i like that idea. I am looking at the nitrate kit which has a scale of
0.25, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 4.0, 6.0, 8.0, 10.0 ppm

That looks like it has one more bottle than the alk test, but still the same logic. The best part is you don't have to read different shades of pink (I suck at that). I'm assuming you know your nitrates are less than 10 ppm already?

yes ...... or atleast i always get 0ppm on the the API tests... might be 5ppm but it does look very yellow

Who me? For the record, I don't worry about my nitrates much if they are less than 10. And I use a dip stick to check that!

What? I don't buy that much stuff. And I can only think of one thing Lorraine talked me into: the Bubble Magus Dosing pump
Everything else I came up all by myself. ;)
Okay I can blame the LEDs on Stephen but that's about it :)

I agree with Lorraine on the Nitrate test kit though. If it doesn't go beyond 10ppm it would be worthless to me
