I keep finding myself doing a quick reply to a post, then instead of clicking the button to post at the bottom, I hit the reply to thread button just above the text box and everything gets deleted instead of posting.

Is there a way to move that stinking button someplace else? If I'm already in the middle of replying I don't need it there! If not, can you at least warn me before you delete what I just spent my time typing up? Like a pop up "you sure you want to delete this quick reply"?

Thx!

Thought I was the only one that had done that. Those new buttons were about the only thing I didn't like from last year's site upgrade.

I haven't done that one yet. But for about two years I had this habit where I would spend too long writing a carefully crafted post or PM and find that I had been logged off while writing it (because my "Quick Replies" are never really quick, right Allan?). When the logged off "you don't have permission to perform this" message came up, my text was all gone and I would log in and start all over in great frustration. I finally started to anticipate that it would happen and got into the habit of always copying my text after I finished writing the message and before I hit the send button, just in case.

One day I mentioned this to Mike who said, "But what's the big deal? When you log in, the message you wrote reappears!" With further discussion I learned that I should have been scrolling down the page when I got that log off message to the login box provided below that message and then my text would have reappeared. Instead I was scrolling up the page to log in at the top (where I usually do) which causes the text to go bye bye. This discovery changed my world! I have since shared this news with a couple of other people who are either as shocked and excited as I was or who look at me like I'm an idiot for having this problem in the first place.

I haven't ever been logged off that I recall, but my quick replies make me late for work sometimes :)

I don't do it here but I had that problem on another site.
Enter a message and tehn the first button they offer is 'clear message'. Well of course I don't want to clear the message I just typed! Why would that even be an option.
I did it like 4 times before I managed to get my message done.
Luckily I didn't have the same problem here.
It's annoying. lol

Now don't change it here or else I'll have to adjust to something new again!

Yes. One of my favorite things about being self-employed now: I don't have to buy into the 'change is good' thing from corporate anymore. lol
All my change is self-induced now. :D

Just when things get figured out it's time for change. And so you continue to change.

I had always opened a new MAAST window, and logged onto THAT screen, then go back to the old window. You were now logged in, and could post.

You know after erasing a few replies by mistake, I typically do two things with every long reply now:

1. Compose all messages after clicking the "Go Advanced" button AND

2. Hi-light and copy, before I click reply.

I do this out of habit at this point. I hate loosing posts that I've worked so hard on.

Christopher :)

Kristy that was funny.

I've never encountered the problem. Not suggesting a fix but try to stay away from the mouse. In the long run the mouse only slows you down. Hit ALT+S and that will send your response.... Unless you are running firefox which seems to use it's own version of hot keys.
