well t5 is not a problem..i guess acans wont appreciate metal halide but i am looking for a fixture that still has a good bulb life no matter if its a used one...

I have two 36" Glo Ballasts, reflectors for two of the bulbs (two bulbs to each ballast) and four 36" T5 bulbs that are about six to eight months used.

If its that old than I guess the bulbs r gne need to get replaced pretty soon..well any how what's the price on that..

Hey Lucky...just wanted to let you know that all of my acans are doing very well under MH. At the moment I have 20 5-10 polyp mini colonies mid reef in a shallow 17" high tank under 250w MH 20k bulbs.

I also have acans in another tank under the same Glo retro fixtures Allan is talking about and those are doing well too. So...I think Acans, once acclimated to lighting will do well no matter what light. Of course a 400watt MH bulb at a shallow depth may prove that statement wrong!

The ballast is about a year old, is that what you were asking referencing the age?

At any rate, the ballast and two reflectors I can let go for $30, the bulbs are yours if you want them. The other ballast is just the ballast with no reflectors for $20 unless you really need the reflectors in which case I can replace the two I've got under the frag tank with the 48"s since I'm running 48" bulbs anyway.

I'm running 400 watt MH at about 20" depth and my acans all seem to enjoy the lighting. Even my Scoly seems much happier with the additional light.

^well...there you go... I think Acans are much more adaptable than most people think. Especially the ones that have been farmed.

Well MH was the one that i wanted to try at the 1st place but wasnt too sure about how the acans would react...but i guess since u guys hve used it succesfuly with no ill affect on acans ...I am gne go with MH aswell....
so if any one does hve a 36" fixture pm me please...

My acans have been fine I have hot pink, red, purple, green matting, a lord and all are very happy I have 250halide 4 t5s and led on the tank.

well HL the best...but i hve tried different lights over the years..i woudnt mind t5s aswell but atleast 6 light fixture like ATI or nova extreme....if sme has em and wanted to sell..pm me
