I've seen mine do that before, a long time ago. And it's still healthy.

anemone do not need to be fed. your anemone is pooping what goes in needs to go out. mine gets whatever my clown gives it, and it misses a lot.

ya its just getting rid of all of the excess food as stated above. However a good water change is a good idea because of all of the junk that is involved when it exudes this stuff.

on a side note, seems like there is A LOT of pellets in that mix. That would be too much for even one clown. You might want to watch how much your feeding so that it doesnt also contribute to your high nitrates.

I would say feed your fish way less. Looks like I can count atleast 20 pellets lol, granted this might be an accumulation over time but still shows that the fish isnt eating it lol. I would say feed like maybe 4 or 5 pellets daily? fish are cold blooded animals as we all know, so what that means is they use their energy much more efficiently than us as warm blooded animals. They use like 70% less energy than us (dont quote me on the percent but i know its a great deal above 50) so they dont need as much food as we would tend to think.

Depending on your setup-mainly if you have a fuge I would only throw in a couple pellets(3-4) a day for the clown as he looks pretty small. I also stopped feeding my nems like others have said as it seemed to stress them out more than anything. Now they get bits that float by I guess but thats it.

+1 on no food for the anemone.

I use to feed mine until the first time it expelled a load into the tank. I haven't bothered since others pointed out it was a waste of time. Not only does the anemone seem better for it it has split several times.

I don't feed my anemone, except to occasionally show someone it's feeding response. Then it's flake food that it catches in the water. Over the years it's grown to be huge.
