I know there's a store in Boerne that carries adult live brine but that's so far for me.
Does anybody know of a local store that gets adult live brine?

There's one in Boerne? We recently bought it from Austin Aquadome when we were trying to get Mike's long nosed hawk to eat. I haven't found anyone who sells it here in town.... wish they would though.

Red Crest Pet Store

You not finding one that's bad news because I know you probably inquired everywhere. :(
Yeah too bad none of the SA stores gets them.

Was hoping maybe one of the freshwater places might carry it (since I've never seen it at a saltwater place)

There used to be a coop in Austin that sold to the lfs there. May want to check the Aquadome next time you're heading north.

Oh no I didn't inquire everywhere, just a few. I had noticed previously that the Dome generally carries it and already had to be in Austin for work that week so it was a good excuse to stop by the Dome.

Seems like you are just destined to go to Austin and check out the Aquadome one of these days. Let me know and we'll make a road trip!

Being that I work at Red Crest in Boerne and live in SA I could easily bring some to town for you if you wanted some Karin. Just let me know how many you want. We sell it for $1.99 per teaspoon. (we net them drain the water and give you a full teaspoon full of shirmp in a bag of fresh salt water) if you set up your own tank with an air stone you can usually keep the shrimp alive for over a week.

What do you feed them to keep them living past a week?

I know folks in Utah who would collect a culture of them from the Great SL and have food for the year. It requires proper feeding and cleaning, which is way more work than I would want to do, but they were breeding and repopulating.

Great. Lots of options.
Thanks!

(I have algae paste so that's what I'd use to feed them Solid)

I knew it!!! This just confirms my theory that you guys hide all the really good stuff in back for yourselves. :)

Seriously, I've been in AD a million and twelve times and never seen live brine shrimp for sale. Is it supposed to be meant just for feeding - not for sale?

well we feed it to our fish 90% of the time just because some are picky eaters when they get done flying but every thing is always for sale and lots of the stuff is hidden in the store just ask if we dont have the item will have it with in a week most of the time

the main reason we keep the brine hidden is because it smells like crap we hate a smelly store

yours stink? lol I wonder why? Ours dont have an odor at all other then the smell of salt water. Maybe its cause we do a 100% water change on the tank every tuesday before we get the shrimp in on wednesdays.....not sure why yours has an odor..

JT you need to keep your shrimp clean!

I did read that they require maintenance or else they smell.

Sarah what a nice offer to bring some back into town but if this is going to be a regular thing I'd hate you having to go through the trouble. Reefs2U and AD are close enough to me. I'll check with them. Hopefully I can grab some before JT throws them in his stinky tub. ;)
