I was thinking about this for the last couple of days and now with Kristy's tank leak scare I feel more certain than ever that when it comes to reefkeeping some kind of law of limited bliss must be in effect.
If you've done this long enough you've probably already experienced the pure misery a reeftank can bring.
The expense, the heartache, the fruitless labor, etc.
So when it's perfect I always get a little paranoid. Like right now my tanks are about as blissful as it can get.
Jawfish are spawning, seahorses are eating, gorgonians are growing. It's pure heaven.
Something awful is going to happen I am sure. Because it just can't stay THIS perfect.

All you have to do is be a little more judgemental ;)

I think my tank is doing awesome. No nuisance algae to be seen, temperature is finally perfect, nitrates are going down. Then I think about that clam that still won't attach, that poor little frag that got massacred by a sweeper tentacle, the scoly that could stand to be fed more often... It's never perfect, because I expect perfection.

Just need to find the equivalent of knocking on wood for tanks! I felt the same way earlier this week about perfectness, but I got my turn today.

I just feel sorry for the 3rd person that doesn't know they are next. Trouble comes in threes.
