I got a piece of the cool new FHI Reef Rock from Gabe. It was an almost perfect shape, it just needed a little trim to smooth the back, and some holes drilled into it that would fit some magnets.
And now, I have a cool shelf on my back wall. :D

Drill some more holes in the top and make it a natural frag rack. Very nice...

I hate frag plugs... and drilling it wasn't as easy as I made it sound. Every time the drill sped up I clenched my teeth, afraid the whole thing would shatter.
It was in the tank for less than 5 minutes before the rock was full of occupants. I got this adorable little thing at LMAR called a platygyra. It's a mean sucker - it's 1.5 inches wide with 6-8 inch sweepers! It took a chunk out of that stick gorg frag under it in the pic, and caused some mushroooms to scatter and flee.
I also put my chili coral under it. It was happy in my tank for a while, until my cleaner shrimp bonded with it. All my other NPS is doing fantastic, but the shrimp is a pest so the chili had to move. It's still unhappy in the pic because I took it right after glueing.

The rock was 2.2 pounds when I bought it. I was really worried the magnets wouldn't hold the weight. It took a lot of magnets, but it was worth it. I like it so much I want to do a few more. :) That FHI Rock was just the perfect piece, it was meant to be. I'll have to keep my eye out for a few more, but they'll be hard to find.
