Harmless. Tends to only come out after lights out. Will retract rapidly if spotted with a flashlight (blue or white). I haven't seen that much of a peanut worm out and about though. Did it retract back into its hole?

Yep that's what it is thanks. I broke his rock so I think he was searching for a new hiding place.

Very possible. I had one in my old Biocube. Like mentioned above it is rare to see them out in the day. Once they find a good burrow it is hard to see them. I only saw mine by accident and freaked out - they are pretty ugly looking.
