The reason for the high cost of Bulldogs is they are artificially inseminated and born by C-section. We have 2, a male and female and they are very cost demanding. Our female had $1200 worth of medical the first month we got her. There is a Bulldog rescue in Lewisville Texas outside of Dallas. Check under bulldog rescues. There are many rescues because of the money pit they can be. We have enjoyed every dollar we have spent and they are an amazing part of our family.

My first dog was an English Bulldog. Man, I love these guys, but yeah, they just seem to breakdown faster than used cars.

I had a Bulldog that passed about 2 yrs ago. SHe was 13 which is WAAAAYYY over their life expectancy and alot of $$ was spent on vet bills. PLease make sure when buying that they come with a vet check guarantee. The most reputable breeders will always offer this. You will not be sorry getting one of these dogs they are the best, but be prepared to shell out some $$ for a top dog.

WOW thats a new one to me. Ive never seen or heard of a boxer doing that. Their disposition is almost right on par with a bulldog, but they are just more energetic.

Boxer's are the best in my personal opinion, but if you are looking for the "Smashed Face" look, maybe you should consider a Boston Terrier. Sometimes you can find a full breed at the local Animal Shelters, rescues, Texas breeders, and on C-list. I have owned 4 and must say they have a fantastic personality. Good luck.

I would elaborate the for the kids to play with. Depending on the dog's activity level, your kids may get tired of the dog or play too much. I can vouch for golden retriever. This dog has been outstanding with my kids and extremely tolerant of their actions.

Great photos Cheri!!!!
I'm partial to Rottweilers. I've adopted many to families with kids and they are wonderful with them. My Pekingese on the other hand is the terror of the house.
