Oceanic 210 Aggressive FOWLR Updated 3/2 NEW PICS !

Hey Crew. Today is the Day ! On our way to Houston to pick up my tank

There are two tanks, a 210 brick style (built from 3/4" glass with no braces) and a 90 gallon eurobraced in one stand.


It's all sitting on a professionally built custom stand.


Inside the stand is a 110 gallon glass sump.



Overall dimensions: 104.5" L x 26.5"W x 81"H



Tank dimensions are:


210 - 72L x 24W x 28H ( The 210 has 3/4" thick glass and is HEAVY.)


90 - 30L x 24W x 28h (1/2" glass)


Sump - 52L x 20W x 25H



Stand Dimensions: 104.5" L x 26.5" W X 39.5" H


Hood is 104.5" L x 26.5" W x 14.5" H



There are 4 spider reflectors and MH mogul sockets mounted in the hood.


All bulkheads are brand new. 3 in the overflow for the 210, 2 in the bottom of the 210 and 1 in the overflow for the 90.



There's some damage to the trim on the 210 (not visible due to the moulding on the stand but may need to be replaced, is standard Oceanic trim material).

Thanks Europhyllia. It was a Task to get it out of the home it was in. Just got to Sa. Just unloaded everything but the 210 called in the Crew and praying that nothing goes wrong with the transistion into my home. The ride went smooth except for the idiots tail gating a guy with a 12 ft Trailer goin 65 for precaution lol.

Was planning on Filling it Yesterday but the Oyster Chip on the Side/Back glass has me Worried although an Experienced 16yr Glass Expert told me I shouldn't have anything to worry about it dosn't have any Lines coming off of it.

But id rather be safe then sorry. So I'm planning to add a few Braces to top and sides along with some beefed up silicone

And probably just fill it up with tap water untill it reaches the small crack just to see what the pressure does.

Yup :-( the guy who sold me the Tank up in Fulshear. Was in such a Hurry to get it out of the house that when we moved the tank onto the furniture dolly. The back glass was grazed by a bolt that was sticking out from a piece of the dolly. My blood pressure sky rocketed as he told me oh no worries its 3/4" glass ! Haa easy for you to say when its no longer your tank. Well I decided to keep loading everything anyways and do some more detailed inspection upon arrival to sa and NO he did not knock off a few bucks but hey this deal I think was a good buy. Ill find out soon enough when I stick the hose in it tonite ;-)

that's what I was thinking. I'd be okay with a chip. I'd be scared of a crack. But I've cleaned up after a 125g bursting so I am a little paranoid anyways...
I'd call this a chip :)

Yes its an Oyster Chip but the concern I have is that the chip sits between the seems of two joining pieces of glass not on the outside but rather the inside half way into the 3/4" glass where the interior silicone sits.

The glass expert said that as long as I don't see any cracking lines coming off of the chip I should be fine but this tank is goin to have a lot of presseure especially since there are no BRACES at all !

Well day 3 of water test on 210 with Oyster Chip and everything seems to be goin alrite. I don't see any visible concerns. Glass is not bowing and chip has not splintered or cracked. 4 more days to GO !

Thanks Mizeny ! The Zoas you sold me are doin GREAT ! Once I get the Livestock of my 125 FOWLR Moved Into the 210 the 125 will be turned into a REEF Full of Zoas. I'm hard at work trying to finish up Plumbing and obtaining sand and rock. More pics coming soon :-)

Yea Ray it is. I've been anxioustly gathering rock, sand, and plumbing all weekend. And yes FOWLR is the idea. The stock in my 125 have outgrown there space. Besides the Hippo, yellow tang, humu, clown, hawaiian black trigger, emperor angel, minni, and blue line grouper lol a lot of big guys. The new editions I hope to add are a Queen Trigger, a Passer Angel and if I can find a small enough Zebra Eel . However all in time of course

OK i know its been awhile since ive updated but its taken a lot of Planning to get this Tank up and Running Properly. The concern with the Oyster Chip is no longer an issue it does not seem to affect the Seals of the Tank however since there are No braces i noticed when Full it Bowed a 1/4" so i had a piece of Glass Cut and Siliconed it to the Middle and that Helped.

Started on Plumbing and Needed to Add Reverse Suction Caps to Overflows

Then Worked on the Return Lines, ended up using Holes drilled for Closed Loop as Hidden Return Lines but didnt like the way Sch 40 Looked and Plumbed up so Switched it out for Some NICE sch80 i picked up from my Buddies at Williams Supply and Pipe in Cibolo

After Rock Work was Scaped, Siliconed, and Zip Tied i began the Transfer of Fish and everyone Acclimated Fine, the 3 1/2 yr Old Hippo had me Worried but is Eating fine

Dammmm Bio Balls ! I came home yesterday and noticed the Pump wasnt Running at its Fullest. And the first thought I had was ok I bought it used and its been sitting for the last year. I need to Lube it again. So I dissconect it and what pops out from the Suction Line ? ( 4 FREAKING BLUE BIO BALLS ) ! I had them in the First Chamber and they made there way under and over 2 more Chambers before getting Sucked up by the Dart . When I kicked the pump back on it blasted a 5th ball out into Shreds ! Gotta Love the Dart Pump. Planning on putting up some Egg Crate to Block the Balls from doing that again.

Tank looks good and you can buy screen fittings to protect your pump. I went thru two pan worlds before I woke up.
