I have a Pufferfish i got almost 2 weeks ago- when it's feeding time, i dont see him going after the food like the other fish.

So i went and got scallops but the other fish and the emerald crab seem to be eating it more than the pufferfish.

I hate to sell him cause he's not eating but i don't want him to die & possibly kill the other fish.

The books i have on fish say that the pufferfish will eat the brine shrimp but he doesn't eat it.

Does anybody have any ideas to get him to eat? or should i watch him more? i watch him for about 6 hours everyday.

Try soaking the food in garlic for 20+ minutes...

Try live food. Even ghost shrimp just to get his appetite kicked in, the and then add garlic soaked (not too much) food during and after he is eating. What are your other tank mates? Maybe he is getting out-competed so he has given up.

i have 2 clowns, 1 fox, 1 blue tang, 1 yellow tang, 1 6line wrasse, 1 emerald crab.

Since i got him, i haven't seen him eat and some days, i feed them 2x just to see if he does eat.

I just hate to give him up cause i do REALLY like him but thanks guys :)

I'll try every idea you can throw at me lol

Every puffer I have ever owned (4) all love PE mysis. Make sure it is thawed, rinsed, then soaked in garlic. Never had one turn it down.

Clams and mushrooms could be another choice?

Clams and mushrooms could be another choice?
actually that sounds delicious even for me -maybe with some pasta and garlic butter?

I hope you find something the fish will eat. It must be distressing the see them waste away. :(

Okay Karin this is what I meant http://h2olifefoods.com/products/clams.html and Rhodactis sp.
If you want to cook them up let me know, although I would rather have fried Oysters.
I saw the clams on the half shell and thought that was neat.
Ichthy if you need some mushrooms I can donate your puffer some to try?

That H2O Life brand offers so many exciting new choices! The freezer side of my fridge looks like it should be in a LFS thanks in large part to the H2O stuff.
Polly's has a lot of that brand. Maybe they have this one too!

Pollys should have this one, as well as oysters on half shell. I do love the H20 food as well since there is so much variety in a single cube, and the nutrition list has higher values as well. But I do love to spoil my fish w/ PE mysis, nothing will beat that anytime soon
