Hi, I just wanted to talk about the frag exchange for a minute. I love this program, I think it's a great way to meet new Maast members and learn about new coral. The program couldn't be more simple, just donate a frag....then pick one to take home :) I think this is another great way to learn from others success and failures, which will help make all of us better at responsible reef keeping. So please participate in this program, so we can make the most out of it. Thanks, and I hope to see more activity in the frag exchange soon.... Stephen.

I enjoy this program as well.
We saw a flurry of activity during the period in which the Level 1 was opened to webmembers.
It seems as if it's trying to take off again but not with the same gusto as previously experienced.
Any thoughts as to why? My first thought was that everyone got their fix, you know... everyone got everything that was in the Level 1 and that Level 2 and 3 were for the more discerning of us?
I have a frag listed under both Level 1 and 2, and can only imagine that others have experienced the same lackluster response as I have in regards to requests for the coral. It isn't so much a problem for me, just wondering if the overall community is sitting on a platau? I know that I really don't have any room left in my tank for new stuff.
At any rate, really enjoy the program that Ace started and then Mr. Cob took over and maximized, and now with the addition of you and Karin it seems that this program is poised for a spectacular future.
My hat off to all of you that makes this program a success.

yea seeing bill offer up a rbta inspired me to adopt it and start adding some of my nicer pieces up for adoption. i forget about the adoption/exchange program and what its really for. i will be trying to participate more, this hobby is all about learning and sometimes we forget that, i know i did.

Thanks for the response guys. There has been some slow time with the exchange program, but hopefully we can turn that around and make it something great...

Tell you what, I'll head over there and see if there's anything I can adopt.

I think the frag program blooms every time there is a nice coral added. It causes someone else to add one to adopt it and then someone else adds a coral to adopt the second one and then three people add something to another level and it blooms for a couple of weeks. As long as people regularly add there is no real reason for down time.
Also, it's not a bad thing if corals are not adopted....because it gives the program an inventory to browse through, if we always had a one to one ratio, ie: for every donation there was an adoption, then we would not have any corals in the program.

Might want to incorporate a quarterly reconciliation to ensure that we don't forget that we have stuff at the ready.

Yeah...I used to bump old threads to get the available stuff up and in the search. Best time to do that is when no one is donating.

Yeah, I remember when you would ask it if it was still available.
I'm fixing to donate some rad level twos. Premo stuff.
