my tank went for 6hrs without power. If your worried try to get a invertor and run a pwrhead from your car battery or if all else fails, if you have a bubble maker that runs of batteries you can use that to help keep the water moving some.

Depends on size of tank. If you get worried use the battery powered air pump that you used the Port A collection trip.

Scary. Might have to look into battery back up for one of the Vortechs...

After almost completely crashing a nano because of this, I bought two of the Vortech battery backups. Still need to get a couple for my nanos. It was bout 9 hours with no power and I got home and several things were dead.

Walmart -> Fishing Section -> battery operated bait bucket bubbler.
Water for a waterchange.
These are the two things I have ready for a power outage. It's better than nothing.
On a side note, my tank has gone several hours [EDIT: 2-3 hours] without power with no ill side effects. The corals will not be their happiest but as long as your tank was stable up to this point, most likely everyone will survive.
Breathe my friend.

[EDIT: Seemed more responsible of me to mention the amount of time I was without power rather than letting you assume.]

If the tank gets real bad and you can't get out the house, you can use a coreless drill with one of those wooden paint stirrer or any clean wooden stick. This will give the livestock some O2 while you wait for power to come back on.

Our power was out a couple of months ago after a storm much like this one. It was of for 4-5 hrs and all we had was battery operated air pumps and everything did fine.

Remember, our livestock does fine in a bag for 48 hours.
The best deal I did was the 1400w generator from Pep Boys a few years ago, for $125.
