I really like this little summary here:
http://www.wetwebmedia.com/deepsandbeds.htm

It helped me make peace with the thought that I can have a DSB with something larger than sugar fine, especially when I considered the purpose I was after and the details of my setup

good article. I still think a dsb is more of a personal choice. like everything in this hobby you have to find what works for you, i have a lot LR, of my sand bed is an inch maybe inch and half, no sand in my sump and everything in my tank is stable. but doesn't mean that will work for other people

uhm. yes. lol. I don't think anybody considers sandbeds mandatory. ;)

And 1" or less is perfect for shallow/ornamental sandbed!

I just really liked the sand gallery and the pros and cons of the different grain sizes in taht article so I posted it. :)

Can't wait to start breeding pods in my new tank!

Thanks Karin

Good Morning read!

My sandbed is around 3" sugar fine although my moray eel moves it at his will and it now varies through out the tank.

Good article. I've been meaning to ask you about what your plans are for the DSB if you do end up moving...

Not moving. Obviously can't move the tank! Or the barn, etc. lol
