I am researching inverts for my Caribbean tank and came across Porcelain Crabs.
Apparently they are very docile and mostly filter feeders.
Has anybody kept them or knows more about them.

Obviously I don't want to introduce trouble to my tank but I love interesting inverts and these seem like they might be a good addition

These are pretty cool, they don't mess with anything and can be collected in the Gulf coast also...many have been collected at Port A and Galveston jetties...

Cool! I might get a few then. Sounds like they stay pretty small anyway

I don't think I have ever seen them bigger than a quarter...

I have a beautiful specimen. They are filter feeders so they wont harm your coral. There was a good article on them in Reef Hobbyist Magazine which prompted me to try them. The only down side is you dont really see them, mine is always in the same spot every night with his "feelers" out grabbing food. Mine is a little larger than a quarter but not by much. It is a redish purple, very nice coloration.

I agree Karin with the good experiences above. I had 2 in the old tank. Both had different coloration. They hide a bunch but once you find them they don't move much. Cool to watch them waving their appendages around catching food.

I also enjoyed my porcelain crab. I remember reading that they might steal food from the anemone, but mine always stayed near the anemone's base and never showed interest.
