View Full Version : Checking Interest in my Fish

I think I have a few too many fish at the moment and wanted to see if there is any interest before taking them to the LFS. All are pretty tame and can be hand fed.
6" Xmas Wrasse - He's awesome, very laid back and doesn't mess with anyone. He just seems like he doesn't have enough room to roam in my 75. If no one is interested, I'll just keep him. $35 - PENDING
4.5" Red Coris Wrasse - This is one of the most beautiful fish I have ever seen. Unfortunately he LOVES to flip frags in the sand bed and I have quite a few frags down there. If you keep them up on a frag rack or the rock, he won't mess with them, just on the sand. He will eradicate any unwanted pests in your tank. We used to hand feed (with tweezers of coarse) bristleworms that we found while fragging. He will go after small snails, but has never messed with my cleaner, pep, or pistol shrimp. $35 -PENDING
2" Flame Hawk - He is bright red, not washed out like some of the ones I've seen. He has a cool personality and just perches on rock, koralia, magfloat, return, whatever floats his boat. - $20
3" Pygmy Cherub Angel - BRIGHT blue, beautiful fish, but he doesn't get along with my black & white clowns and they're my favorite 2 fish in the tank. He has NEVER nipped at LPS, SPS, or Zoas and there's plenty to choose from in the tank. $25
Will also consider trades for frags. I'm not too concerned about the money, I just want them to go to a good home. I'll try to post pics, but they never stop moving long enough to get pics.

I've read Flame Hawks are reef safe "with caution." Any idea what that means...? And how's your guy been around your corals and inverts?

Hawks can go after shrimp. Mine has never messed with my huge cleaner shrimp or even showed interest but he did have fun with a few small peppermint shrimp I added.

tebstan I had one and he ate my small shrimp. It never ate my corals though. If you dont have small shrimp like sexy shrimp then you should be okay. I know he has a large cleaner shrimp and it does not bother it at all.

I have a pretty big cleaner, 3-4 peps and 2 pistols, he's never gone after any of them. He's never messed with any of my coral.

What about things like dusters, conch, starfish?

I don't have any dusters or conches, but I do have star that wanders and he's always left it alone.

hawkfish are some of the coolest fish in a tank. so much personality, we had 3 different hawks in the 280g...flame, pixie and freckled. They used to mess with my snails that got turned over but never with the shrimp.

do you know if this one's going after the real tank mates (coral of any sort) :

He won't mess with coral. I did forget to mention he is a little feisty. He's not aggressive, but I have seen chase my wrasse around.

I'd be concerned about the hawk going after my dusters and coco worms. A few sources mentioned that habit, but not most, so I wonder if its a trait that varies a lot with each individual fish.

I guess nevermind? If there was any confusion you could have called me to eliminate that. I'm pretty frustrated with this whole ordeal.

Erik, I thought you were going to call when you were available? I'm confused. If you want him, he's yours, I am having some difficulty catching both wrasses. As soon as they see the net, they both dart into the sand.
