I did a little reading on CL systems and in my opinion have come to the conclusion that as long as you have good water flow with no dead spots so there is less chance for detrius the better. The thing to keep in mind is that some softies and LPS are more sensitive to turbulent water flow than SPS would be in general. I would fill it with fresh water and check the flow to make sure you don't have any dead spots and don't have anything blowing directly where you will have sensitive corals. I also think that adjustable return nozzles (like lock line) will give you some after the fact adjustability.

So sorry, long story short, I think if you can design the front and back return system and don't mind the look, that offers the most adjustability and flow.

Roob, It all depends on what you are wanting to have to look at constantly and where you want to direct the flow. I would have them at the back bouncing flow off the front glass...JMO

Ya think I may just leave them in the back. Maybe add two more outlets. I had two the last time n it worked very well. No sense in changing what works
