Is there an easy way to kill nudis?
Reef Dip isn't it.
I just pulled off 3 nudis of my favorite gorgo (Briareum sp.)
I already took off 2 when I first got it.
They all seem to be the exact same size. No babies or different stages, etc.

I know I always use Reef Dip, etc. but I wonder why. Most pests don't really seem to be affected by it?

We don't really dip corals... did these gorgos come in the group order? Just wondering if we need to watch ours. I am assuming they are eating your corals.

We bought some Lugols solution which is supposed to help kill parasites, but have never used it. Good luck.

no this one is a wild harvested gorgo and the nudis seem to only eat on that specific coral. Plus that coral is so ginormous that it doesn't seem to be bothered too much by them either.
all of the group order ones are clean (and captive grown so much less likely to have some wild critters munching on them :) )

Found this one for you. Never tried it so I can't speak from experience. I also am not up to date with NPS corals or gorgos but, might be some helpful info....

good link....nice read.

What's your plan of attack? If the article is correct they may not have a breeding population. Since you don't see them on anything but the gorgonians you might be in luck there. On the other hand, if they are breeding usually eggs aren't very big and very well hidden.

Keep us posted!

John great link!
I've actually had that particular gorgonian for a good while now and the fact that all of the nudis are exactly the same size -apparently adults- makes me hopeful that indeed they're not breeding.
I may not be able to see the eggs but I think after all this time I should see some different sized nudis to indicate there are babies/juveniles, don't you think?
