I want to try having some sea horses.
I do have a 75gal tank with a yellow tang, foxface, blue tang, 2 clowns[like nemo], coral beauty angel and a flame angel.

I know i cant put the sea horses in there cause my fish are "fast eaters"
I have an extra tank just sitting around, 20gal. I would like to use that so i dont have to buy another tank. There's a site i use that says the minimum tank size is 30gal.

Right now, i just want advice as much as possible cause i dont plan on buying sea horses till about aug-oct.

Is there anything i need to know? [i know 100% nothing]
like food they eat, will they eat brime shrimp or do they need a certain kind
do they need rocks or will just plants be ok?
Can they go in a 20gal or really need something larger?

Is there a book i can read on just sea horses? Cause the books i have are just about care, lights, what you need to have, who can go with who, who likes what.
Any advice will help me!!

This is a great site, http://www.seahorsesource.com/ I think the first thing you need to deside is if you plan to breed or not...that will determine tank height
Some rock for filtration is nice, but they would be plenty happy with a bunch of macro.

If you don't want breeding going on, best get same sex horses. The breeding WILL happen otherwise! :) Sometimes people are willing to take and raise your babies if you don't want to do it, though. Having baby seahorses can be stressful, heartbreaking, and difficult. However, it can also be heartwarming, exciting, and rewarding. Unfortunately, one typically has to go through the first set of emotions before truely enjoying the second set.

I agree, seahorse.org is great!

I am a mod on seahorse.org and live here in SA. I have been up to my eyeballs over the last 1 1/2 years and plan to become more active on MAAST (Mr Cob I will follow your advice and begin to post breeding info), as time permits. I will gladly assist you in anyway I can to answer your questions. If you are still interested in seahorses please post your questions and I will do my best to answer them here or send me a PM. I am finally have the time to log into MAAST a couple of times a week and will assist you in any way I can. I do not have any seahorses for sale as I am working with comes and kuda, however I can send you in the right direction for obtaining CB seahorses from a reputable source. Just let me know what you need.

Thanks Eve. It has really been crazy. Building and plumbing circular fry tanks. Running 50 micro sleeves for the kuda to reduce the ciliates. Ordering oxydators out of Amsterdam.Working with 35% peroxide solutions and cutting it down to 6% solutions. 18 gallons of rotifers and propagating tetraselmis and T. iso. Loving every minute of it. For the love of seahorses.
