Anyone want to share their experiences with these? I am looking at a tunze wavebox as the wave2k has gotten some bad reviews. Do you have additional flow besides the return? I know ace told me he only ran a wave box and mag 18( i think) on his old tank. I see people sell them but havent heard anything bad about them besides their appearance.

Kevin,
Steve has a wavebox on his 58g and loves it. He had a wave2K several years back and thought it was junk. The wavebox and return are the only flow he has. You are more than welcome to come by anytime you are in SA when Steve is at home.

excuse my ignorance as the salinity behind my ears hasn't come up to par yet. But, I see the cost on these wave makers, but then also see the Vortechs. With a recent MP40 I saw using a wave feature, are these essentially the same? Both seem up there in price and I hear good things on both. I would think the smaller size of the Vortech would be more appealing as well vs the big box, but I guess depending on the aquarium size too right?

I have a nano wavebox on my 57g and I love it. I also have a mag 7 return pump and thats it. I have only been running around 2 weeks or so, but I haven't had any issues with it. The one thing I really like about the wavebox is the photocell, so there is no need to run it through a timer if you like you to shutdown your wavemaker at night.

I have a wavebox on my 125 and a nano wavebox on my 60 cube. I have tried several Koralias and vortech for water movement prior to the waveboxes. Nothing I have tried so far is comparable to the wavebox. My corals seem to like the flow from the wavebox better than the others, but that is my experience. Also, watching the aquarium is more enjoyable to me now because of a more natural flow to the tank.

nice....any chance of a vid as a comparable? As I get settled into all this, I'd really like to improve that aspect as well. I see the Vortech vids, but most seem to be on just their marketing. I like what I've read about the wave boxes too.

Steve had MP40s and the wavebox and it would take 4 of the 40s to do what the wavebox did and the corals love the action of the wavebox.

One wavebox rocks my 300DD. I use it as a afternoon storm in my tank. The service center is in Austin and that made the sale for me.
