I got my filter problem fixed:)
now i have a 150 skimmer problem:cry_smile:
If anybody has a Sea Clone skimmer, please help me.
The little pipe will NOT go all the way in the big canister
It will lock but the problem is that it leaks.
It is brand new less than a week ago, the thing is that i got it from ebay
No parts are missing and i still have the box.
I was wondering if anybody who does a Sea Clone Skimmer for up to 150gal. has had this problem and how to fix it.

She doesnt have a sump as far as i can tell about her previous thread about running two xp3's. Also it will work better in a sump but thats only if you can get it to work at all, its got a very poor track record as skimmers go, both in my opinion and if you look up online reviews. However, in fairness usually the majority of reviews posted on products are only by people who feel strongly about it rather than somebody who has it and it does a meteocer job or what not.

That little pipe goes in as far as physically possible. It's just not supposed to go in any further. The problem is something with the way it locks, I think. Playing with it, it was hard to tell which way would work better since it wasn't in water. The O ring looked fine. Those four little notches? and the other piece has two nubs by two of the notches? Try each one in a different spot. It shouldn't matter, but sometimes it does...
Have you checked to make sure it's level?

I had one and had it as a hob. It worked when my tank had the correct amount of water in it. I used hob filters back in the day. So when my tank evaporated water the Skimmer would stop working. But when I switched it to in sump it worked great.

aggiereefer12 is right, i dont have a sump, i want one and am willing to trade my 55gallon for one and a refugase?
After you played with it, i tried it and it seemed to be level just off by a little bit like 1 or 2cms but it still leaked when even i made it level.
Finally, i just asked my dad to seal it and when i tested it, it didn't leak.
I'm just waiting till tomorrow to actually test it out.

Glad you got the skimmer working.
You don't *need* a fuge... but you'll want one!

Yeah i do want one though i dont need one cause it would be awesome to see pods growing in them. I was gonna see if i can find a book on a sump cause i'm lost about them. The books i have dont talk about them, mainly about cleaning and feeding, lights, sand, fish and "cleaner" fish.
