Hey guys,

I lost my cleaner wrasse last night, had him about 8 months to a year. I got him for ich before i realized that cleaners don't work for ich.

So now I'm presented with an opportunity to get another wrasse or fish of some sort, what are your recommendations?

I have, powder brown, blue hippo, yellow tang, starry blenny, scooter blennie, target manderin, two skunk clowns, four green chromis, and a juvenile cow fish. Oh and one cardinal bengai.

Now that the cleaner has passed my cow is jetting the sandbed, something that the cleaner would never allow... Which leaves me wondering if sponge bob had something to do with the cleaners untimely demise.

For the record I do not want another cleaner wrasse for the obvious reasons.

Suggestions?

I love wrasses for their speed and color, you can hardly go wrong here - but be aware that most are jumpers and need a good covering over the top of the tank. You could add more than one if you add them at the same time.

A mystery wrasse would be an obvious choice and would be Mike's recommendation. They are so beautiful and have lots of personality. Also (as of Sat. evening) Gabe has a small one for sale with the bars on it that is really beautiful.

Another favorite of mine is the clown fairy wrasse, also very beautiful and colorful. Our girls named ours the "rainbow fish."

i like mccosker fairy wrasses for their colors, but size wise mystery wrasses and lunar wrasses are my second choices

Flasher wrasses colors always impressed me. I also like the radiant wrasse though.

There are some really nice wrasses out there. Really like the vivid colors of just about all of them. Kristy sent me a link to a site and I really couldn't settle on just one... but the prices were a bit on the high end. At least I have an idea of what I want for the tank.

If money isnt an issue, Rhomboid or hawaiian flasher. I remember seeing a pretty cool blue flasher wrasse at Gabes awhile back. There are just so many nice ones its hard to pick. I had a cleaner, 2 leopards, and a mccoskers. I may try and get some leopards again but they have a horrible track record with shipping.
