Ok Im doing the plumbing on the tank tommorow to have water in it by saturday. All my previous tanks have been drilled on the back this one has the holes on the bottom.
Is there a design of standpipe that works better and is quiter than others?
Also what about the return Lines. Ive always had just one return line on my tanks this one im running from my Mag 18 to both corner overflows. Do I simply add a "Y". Id like to limit the restrictions and not add alot of elbows.
Any help appreciated :)

They drain quiet, and keep water from falling so far in the overflow box.

Added more to my 1st post. Wondering about the return to dual overflows. I have a general idea but would liks some imput. Im used to doing plumbing for 1 return line, not having to split the line in two ways.

I would just y the line myself. Of course doing this the return with the higher head preasure will be alittle weaker, but you could add valves to the two return bulkheads to balance the flow if wanted. You could run a SCWD to split the two returns, but I hear they clog up easy.

I tried both Durso standpipe and the Stockman durso. The Stockman style durso works alot better for me. It took less space and alot quieter.

I have a Dart pump and used a "Y" in the line. Take a look at the "Y" below. We also used ball valves to keep the pressure the same on both sides of the tank. Since my pump sits on one side of the stand and almost goes straight up, one side was more powerful than the other.

Thanks for the input Ross.
Nice diagram. I got to see it in person when I picked up the maast cart. Very nice filtration system.
