I found it's easier for me to stick with it if I have a specific day.
I worked it into my house cleaning routine. Mondays: bathrooms, Tuesday: kitchen, etc. Friday: pets, including fish

same here. when i switched from large water changes once or twice a month to small ones twice a week, it became much easier for me to stick to the schedule. it really makes a difference in my tank as well since i dont have any mechanical filtration.

my schedule is 5 gallons every wednesday and Sunday.

Yes, I have been bad about it. It has been about 3 weeks since last water change, but am doing a 15 gallon (25%) water change this afternoon. Have been mixing the water since last night.

Thanks for starting this thread and keeping me honest, i'd probably let the water run another day. LOL..

thats the sweet thing about nanos, i have a ten gallon zoa/paly/shroom tank, all i need to do is one gallon a week, takes five minutes! although i have been guilty of going like three weeks between changes. :(

It had been a long time since I had a smaller tank when I set up the Finnex at work. I tried to get away with every other week water changes and noticed some really strong parameter changes, so I went back to a more frequent schedule. I do a small change about every 3-4 days which gets me a weekend day every other week to do more extensive cleaning/maintenance when I have more time to get it done. I keep a 5 gallon bucket in the corner and mix water on Monday and let it keep going - then change out about 2 gallons of tank water at a time. Seems to me to keep the parameters in a good spot with no dosing (added bonus for my schedule)

Wow, you guys are great! I wish I had the energy to do them that frequently. I will start doing them now. maybe five gallons three days a week.

I've done one in the last six months, or one since I've tiled my floor.

Im guilty as charged. Mine around every three/four weeks. Once a month. I have to say though because of my softies tend to flourish better when im not messing with the tank to often.
