I chose some that were referred to as wide angle LEDs. Not sure if it really makes a difference but it sounded like great marketing. It got me to buy them ;)

I think the ones in most hoods are 3w. I have 3 blue ones out of my 29BC hood if you want them.

Not even close. This is a big area with led lighting and there are moon lights out there that are crazy looking (403 nm).

I use the Current USA Lunar Lights. I replaced them after about 2 years and the new ones were much much brighter than old ones. I don't know if they dim with age, or just use better bulbs now.

I have these:

They call them super bright wide angle LEDs.
Under these moonlights colors show that I haven't even noticed under the daylights! The yellow japanese zoas are stunning, boring stuff like meat coral glows orange. Very nice whatever they are and the tubes are so lightweight I just glued the mounting clamps to the back of my ATI fixture. Worked out perfect.

I have a UV and 403 nm stunner strips that I use for moonlights. All I can say is that it really outs my stock moonlights to shame. It does put off lots of light but things don't seem to mind. Corals just glow with brilliant fluorescence under them.
