LED group buy possibly?

Hey Im not organizing anything here but was wondering if anybody else out there is looking at building a diy LED fixture and group buying to get the price breaks from Cutter electronics? I wouldnt be wanting to do an order for like 3-4 weeks from now. just lmk if your interested.

as far as wiring directions go it seems simple enough I have been lookin stuff up on RC along w/ other sites and been talking w/ Stephen and a few others. Cutter will offer up to 2.43 off of the XPG LEDs making them like 5.27 or so. Also they have bulk discounts on all the LEDs and Lenses so could potentially a decent amount off of it. As of now there is no bulk discount on the drivers but I will send them an email asking about it as well as shipping.

sounds good to me. not even necessarily a demo but even maybe a workshop? i might know a place we could get w/ soldering iron and stuff for everyone in schertz area. and just meet up every blank day at w/e time and work and have ppl advice and thoughts....

That would be great. Seems like now a days people only want to do things for money. Countless times I've done suspensions swaps, car work, or other things just to help someone out in their hobby or life. Days of just sharing knowledge seem to be over....Now it's just "what is it worth to you." Annoying....I'm down for the workshop. I've read a lot of stuff on the topic, but more of a hands on person where if I see it done physically once, thhen I have the confidence to plug and play.

depending on when we do the order and when it gets here I could do late May-early June or would have to start in July. but i like the idea of a workshop w/ ppl of experince showing us and then working on our indiv fixtures

Just got a reply from Cutter LED. He said "no worries" about the group buy. Said he would work us a deal on everything from drivers to LEDs to optics. So pm what you are thinking your wanting so i can send him a list of stuff so they can get us a price quote on each of the components.

I'm interested in an LED setup for either my 55gal or 100gal. I guess for now I would start with what would be necessary for the 55gal(maybe txg8gxp could suggest estimated material). If I can learn how to do the 55gal, then I'll be comfortable with the 100gal on my own.
