Anybody else? We need more participation if we do a group order.

neogenix
Tue, 4th May 2010, 02:38 PM
Great, whom ever has in mind to do an order, give a general idea on how much you were looking to spend so we can work out if we're able to cover the minimum order.

Neogenix: $35

I will see if I can find a computer tonight to get an idea of what I want.

neogenix
Wed, 5th May 2010, 09:31 PM
So we're about 150 in so far, we need another 100 I believe to make it to the group order number.

Gseclipse02
Wed, 5th May 2010, 10:51 PM
150 gets you free shipping i think

ramsey
Wed, 5th May 2010, 11:26 PM
"Free Shipping Applies to all group orders over $250. We will contact you if it falls short and we have a shipping charge."

Maybe we talk to him and he'd make an exception for MAAST members?

When would this be? My tank is just about set up and I may be in time to order a few things depending when.

neogenix
Wed, 5th May 2010, 11:48 PM
As soon as we can get it up and going ;) If you need some, I'm sure you could just put them into a container with a powerhead... think of them like live rock, but that moves ;) It'll probably be in a week or two... how long till your tank's done?

Do ReefCleaners group orders ship individually? I'm in need of about 30-50lbs of dry rock. I'm in Austin, and would prefer to have the rock shipped here and not have to head to SA for pickup. And does anyone know if rock qualifies for any kind of discount on group orders?

neogenix
Thu, 6th May 2010, 11:38 AM
Unfortunately not, it'd be for pickup here, sorry :(

Paul, You'd get an assortment of snails, and / or crabs, shrimp, or other funky cleaner creatures. Give reefcleaners.org under the store a look.

When I looked last week the Dwarf Planaxis was available, but now they're not. I was curious about them, but it didn't sound like they're often available to avoid depleting the natural habitat of them. (I like that.)

Anyone had these before?

So I spoke to neogenix and we need to know if it would be easier for everyone if we got the order shipped to New Braunfels or San Antonio. Also, if anyone else wants in, nows the time!

Sorry guys, me and Neo placed our order. We were having a hard time hitting the $250 mark and there didn't seem to be much interest. We just placed the order and it should ship Monday. Let me email John and see what we can do. I'll keep you guys updated.

Group buy ends tomorrow. It'll ship Monday. The pickup location will be one of two places. It will likely be at Neo's house but if not, it'll be at my workplace off of I-10 and Wurzbach. The order is being shipped to my house but I'll be bringing it with me Tuesday afternoon on my way to work. I'll let you guys know for sure ASAP. I'm waiting to hear back from Neo.

Ok so I am interested in a couple lbs of dry rock. Would I be able to get less than the required amount to not mess any of the shipping charges up?

If so I am interested in about 20 lbs of dry rock. So what do I go about doing to order it?

Sun, 16th May 2010, 12:23 AM
Hey Folks,

You guys can come pick it up at my house just off I-10/De Zavala. Ramsey will have it delivered to his house on Tuesday morning - hopefully (you can pick it up if you're there shortly after the order arrives (New Braunfels)), and then bring it over to our work and collect it from my house (I-10 and De Zavala) or if you need it closer to Wurzbach (I-10 and Wurzbach). Let us know what you end up ordering so we can make sure that it's separated out properly.

Tebstan, Allen, Paul, I think all your stuff is here. If you ordered mangroves, they didn't come, and the person who I'm assuming is Rocketeer I think we may be having issues finding all your bags, I'm going to go home and work through them to find them all, but it may take me a few minutes. Give me a call 210 646 1004 and let me know *who* you are, and when you want to come get it ;)

...how can you tell?! One of mine still hasn't moved, but when I poked him he tensed up a bit... These are some slow critters for sure, no wonder algae grows on them.

When I dropped them in, one headed toward the glass, one to rock, and one is still kinda in the same spot. The one on the glass took 2 hours to turn around last night. (I was very amused by this.) But this morning, a large nassarius was attacking him! Had his little probiscus thing stuck under the chitons shell and was pumping juices out.
I pulled off the snail and put the chiton on the rock. It is ever-so-slowly crawling to safety. I hope he makes it.

Hi Tebstan,

sorry I missed this, would've gotten back to you earlier had I known. Okay, how did I know it went belly up. Hmmm... how did I know....

Oh, I get it. See, I was being literal. He went Belly Up. On his back. Sunbathing with his belly exposed. T.U., Doing the backstroke on the bottom... :D Sometime during the night it fell off the rock and landed on its back. I put it back right side up and it ended up in the same position. The next day my yellow tang was dining on its soft underside because it was... yep, you guessed it, belly up. :)

A little too late for this but: they display homing behavior.
Mine arrived sitting together in a little shell and so rather than just dropping them in I placed them in the tank on the little shell.
They ventured out from there and then returned to the shell for nap time I guess.

Oh wow, that's awesome. I took out the shell... wonder if they'll return if I put it back. They are all in the same general area, I figured they just hadn't traveled far for lack of motivation. They really are very slow.

Will the fuzz grow back? I think my tang ate it.

Europhyllia
Tue, 25th May 2010, 12:19 PM
Our fuzz got eaten off too and didn't return. I like the detail on the critter though so I am good with no fuzz...
