discoloration of a 6 line wrasse

So i did my water change maybe an hour ago. I had let the salt mix (oceanic) mix for about 36 hours brought it up to room temp. then changed out 5 gallons maybe 20% of the total volume. just looked at my tank and all my corals are out and open like normal, but there is my six line by some rock in the back corner swimming near vertical nose down moving maybe 2 inches up and down. He has splotches on him that i wouldnt say are red but the overall discoloration is a red tinge in those splotches but with the same pattern. I fed the tank pellets and my clowns came out and ate like normal. The sixline doesnt usually eat pellets so im thawing some frozen now. Any ideas? I cant get a good angle in which to take his picture but will keep trying.

did a quick round of tests. Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate are all 0. pH is 8.0 which is normal for my tank. Temp is normal and steady at 75. He doesnt seem too interested in food at all just swimming in the same area, occasionally goes over to where the clowns hang out

Sorry I don't have any suggestions but I hate to see emergency threads that have no responses, so maybe this will bump it up for you.

Hope your guy is ok. Cannot think of any reason he would be stressed from the info you have given.

is he a new fish ? how long have you had him ?

Had him for a week today, was eatin frozen well too. My first thought was a burn from ammonia/nitrite/nitrate or chlorine but nobody else was effected. Also treated my water for chlorine and let sit for 36 hrs so it shoulda gotten out. And nothing else was effected

What sort of lighting? How'd you acclimate him? Does he seem quite active? or slow moving? Did you check for specs, or marks that may indicate a disease or parasite?

I've seen the same thing on mine. He's one off my oldest fish, 4-5 months. All params are good too. Other than the color he seems healthy.
