So being bored and all I have been kicking around ideas for my new livestock line-up.

Currently have-
Sailfin Tang
Purple Tang
Powder Brown Tang
Blue Hippo Tang
Two Percula Clowns
Sixline Wrasse
Midas Blenny
Flametail Blenny(wont make the move though-eats LPS)
Two Kupang Damsels

Thinking of adding:
3 Yellow Tangs
Yellow Belly blue Hippo Tang
Naso Tang(maybe blonde)
Tennenti Tang(still deciding as I havent seen one in person)
Vlamingii Tang
Along with a school of anthias(Ideas? I am thinking Lyretail as they seem to be the hardier of anthias) I wanted sunburst but heard they werent "schoolers" as much as the other fish.

I think the tank comes to about 375(8x3x2) and will be what I call Tang Dominant as you can probably see. I will be keeping hardier sps(although I said this last time and look what happend) and LPS with a couple softies thrown in. This tank wont be up for awhile but getting new real estate for my reef has gotten me thinking again. Please feel free to throw out other ideas as well as I change my mind alot and am open to new ideas(for the most part LOL).

Dude,

First, I didnt' realize that jeep was a rock crawler. NICE!

I like the idea of a bunch of yellows in the mix... they really seem to punctuate a large tank with a delightful splash of color that can be seen from across the room. That being said... everytime I go to a LFS and they have the tiny little blue hippos all swarming around I think they would be a great idea to have a bunch of them in a tank. But since Nemo they've become so "like, yesterday, ya know?"... still, were I to go in on a larger tank I'd seriously think of doing it. But then again they get so danged big.

I also like the Achelis tang, but when it's all said and done I think it's only for that orange spot... and of course I don't like putting in a fish that tends to be a period, you know, the last one that you can put in because of its nature.

That reef safe golden eel on the thread sounds like it would be a nice addition. And of course Ace has pulled off large eels in his reef tanks with little to no issues.

I got an Aptasia Eating File Fish that turned out to be a vegan... well, it won't eat Aptasia at any rate, that seems to be a nice addition. You know you never see it, then all of a sudden -- BAM it comes out from behind a rock or moves where it apparently had blended into the background.

I like your line up though. Let me know if you need any help when the upgrade comes up.

i don’t think will ever double up on any of the tangs again .... its cool but than i was like i can get more of different kinds of tangs if i got rid of the ones that were doubled on ....
if you get a naso get a blonde so much nicer ....i just got one and was glad i didn’t get a haw. naso or normal one
the tennnenti is really cool mine is really peaceful for the most part and pretty smart/ not shy he is one of the new guys and caught on quickly ( eats with the old school fish )

look into the barletts anthias very nice color as a juvi

When my 280g was up, I had:
Vlimangi
2-Purple
2- Desjardini
Dussimier
Unicorn
Mustard
Hippo
Yellow Eye Kole
Yellow
Blond Naso

These were so nice to watch and to see the 2 Purples swimming together. I loved the Tangs and really miss having them. The Tenneti is a good choice. They are gourgeous. Polly's in NB has a Mata Tang that is next to never available and I like fish that no one else has...lol If I could put him in my tank....he would be gone.

Allan,
Yep I built it up during college. I am actually thinking of selling it as I dont really drive it anymore... Gonna be a sad day when that happends.
As for eels I am on the fence as I have 2 skunk cleaner shrimp and 2 fire shrimp that Im afraid an eel would eat. Same reason I am skipping on getting a trigger.

As for anthias I will research those Bartletts for sure.

Mata Tang- Yeah Ive been looking at it for my 180 but we will be moving soon and the less livestock for the move the better. This new tank will be set up at the new place for a couple weeks and then I will transfer over the fish. I am still deciding on if I want to try and move the corals or just sell them as I know I will have algae problems all over again...
Unicorn Tang- is a good idea havent really kicked around the idea of that yet.

I know how you feel about tangs they are always out and about swimming back and forth along with their amazing colors they have to be my favorite species of fish.

Reminds me I need to add some new colors to your sps post steve. Got some nice stuff.

Man I would but I cant take good pics to save my life. I cant believe how some people take iphone pics that make my pics look so horrible. I will try and see if I can get some shots tomorrow but its usually pretty bad.

K,

Best way to take an iPhone pic is to take about two hundred pics, one will be on par.

Do not get rid of your jeep dude, I had a mudder I built from scratch and have regretted selling it ever since.

Pyramid butterfly. I have owned several in various reefs. They are less common than yellow tangs but have beautiful yellow and white colors and not overly aggressive.

If I ever get to set the 280g back up, I will have a school of at least three of the Pyramids. they are nice...

Yep been looking at those as they are supposed to be the safest(reef wise) of the butterflies. The tank order is complete and going to be sent in Monday. Now time to start planning a stand...

I would definetly say a male and female wattanbe angelfish or male and female swallotail angelfish
