SOLD

1962 VW Bus Kombi 47years old and still around. Solid

Unfortunatley its time to sale the bus. To be honest with you its more important to pay off some of the 1000's I have in Credit card debt at the moment versus continue to put money in something thats here simply for pleasure. So after talking to my wife here i am.

Not to mention im setting up my 180g tank

For those of you who do not know much about VW Buses. These were the germans work horse. This is considered a splitty do to the split windows in the front. Splitty were produced strating in the 50's-1967. Then VW started producing bay windows from 1968-1978 or so. The in the 1980s the made the vanagans.

I will purchase another VW bus later on down the road, I can promise you that http://www.vosaclub.org/phpBB3/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

Asking $4500 OBO Money talks!

Since ive bought it I have purchased various gerson panels (still need to be welded on), chemicals for paint removal and protection. I also bought a original hump back seat that did not come with it when I purchased it from Dave. Have had a couple of panels welded on already on the driver side outer and inner rocker and the nose. They were not done with perfection but ive been told that with a little more work they will be fine. Ive sanded down probably 30-35% down to bare metal. This baby starts and runs good. Grinds a little going into 2nd but thats how I purchased her. Has had the oil changed and fule filters changed. Also purchased slightly used full size spare tire. Motor 1600cc dual port. It can cruise at 70mph on the highway.

Will also throw in three new books

What she needs

To be completely finished being stripped down to bare metal, primered and paint.

-Window seals.
-Intererior stripped and sealed.
-Gerson panels welded on.
-Rear bumper is correct for year but needs to be bent into shape.
-Bulkhead was cut out sometime ago. I was going to buy one and weld it back in. This has to be done to use the humpback seat.
-Engine is good all around.

Thanks for looking!

Ray

The person that will purchase this vehicle will really need to have some knowledge of Classic VWs.

There are very year specific things listed above. For examply the humpback seat was only produced for 1962 and 1963 buses only...

Thanks Rob, im not really in a position to restore any longer either so it has to go.

Someone will be happy. It is truly a unique feel when driving this baby. Large almost horizontal steering wheel makes it feel like you really are driving a bus.
