Refugium substrate

Sand or Mud? Looking for everyones opinion, should I use fine sand/ mud/ or both.

I have never used mud, only sand and bare bottom macro refugium. I would only consider using mud if I had plans to plant some mangroves.

nothing. got lots in the DT. barebottom fuge makes it easier to clean

The fuge in the sump is barebottom, for the display fuge I guess I will use sand. That will keep me from buying anything.
