sounds like everybody at some point had an angel that didn't nip ... until they started nipping. ;)

Flame, had him for 8+ years(can't remember exactly) he has been with clams, brains the two that most have problems with and no trouble. I do not think there is a fish that is totally safe. I have heard of purple tangs nipping. I call it trial and error.

I had a flame angel for over two years in a mixed reef tank with clams and never had any issues.

In my old tank I had a flame, yellow, and african flameback that never nipped at any corals. I've had 2 different coral beautys that both nipped at sps only. The first one I removed from my tank and the second got to stay in the tank. It completely stopped nipping at my sps after it discovered the algae clip. All of the pygmy angels I had were safe with clams too. In my present tank I am keeping a flame, yellow and eibli. The flame and yellow nip at my sps but don't eat from the algae clip. The eibli doesnt care for my sps. He'd rather eat nori off the clip.

Had a Flame Angel for a little over 3 years in my first reef. Really did well until he tasted an elegance coral I guess they taste real good cause after him a arrow crab learned to jab at that same coral until it would release waste then would eat it .. Never could understand why he wanted to eat that ..

Had positive and negative w/the usual suspects. But, the atlantic pygmy "cherub" angel is one that's never bothered any coral/invert in all my years. They stay pretty small too.

Had a coral beauty that was reef safe. I unfortunately lost him/her with my marine velvet outbreak. Been too worried to buy another.

Don't know if this is in the same category, but I had a Watanabie Angel with absolutely no problems...well except for that one little issue I had when I went out of town, and I lost my entire tank so she passed on.

I loved that fish.

i had a nox angelfish in my nano reef with 2 clams for a good while and it never picked at anything. at least not that i knew of. he was my favorite fish. lost him due to stupid anemone giving himself a koralia swirly and nuking my tank.
