Looks good so far, liking the rock work.
I would just recommend squeezing the rock in tighter cause it seems like on the sides you will have trouble cleaning the glass.

Even though you can't see it, there's around half a fist worth of space, but I think you may be right, a bit more space may be useful :)

Well, I want a yellow tang :) and, some nemo's... outside of that, a few corals that have really caught my eye, the one that first jumps to mind is the atomic candy cane, oh, and some clams :)
At the moment it's a 50G oceanic which was RR, and drilled for closed loop, that I got 2nd hand from TXMike with stand and Light (which is a 36" pendant with 1x 175W MH, 4x T5 (AFAIR)). The closed loop has been plumbed closed for the time being. Return is being done with a PanWorld PX30-X (300/h) and, currently there is one cheap powerhead in the tank to add flow while I wait for the Koralia Evolutions to arrive (2x 750G/H). There's a 250W Heater (Aqueon Pro, thanks Gabe!) and a CoraLife 220 Super Skimmer (connected to a Rio 2100).
And last but not least, there's 100 pounds of LR, and nearly 100 pounds of LS (nearly 2.5 inches worth of sand bed).
The only thing live in the tank right now is some chaeto, some red mangroves, and a herd of snails :)
All my numbers are pretty low, nitrates are picking up after the migration into the tank, but not really all that much.
My next few upgrades will be a T5 lighting system, and then the Koralia Evolutions shortly. After that, I'll see how things go, but no doubt I'll be bumping that to a much larger tank when we move to a permanent location :)

Outstanding start! Jealous. I wish my 100 would look tat organized. I'm slowly adding more live rock(transferred about 50lbs over from the 55gal when I moved up) and want more sand on top of the 140lbs I have. Keep the pics coming, looking forward to seeing it grow.

Thanks!! It actually just kinda happened while I was moving things around, and all of a sudden, wham it looked the way I wanted :) I'll hopefully be adding a shrimp or two in the next few days as well as either a blennie or a goby !

Congrats on your first tank. I second the idea of clearing a bit of space so you can clean the glass on the sides easily. If you get a chance....post of pic of the side view...

Thanks for the kind words all! :)

I've actually gone ahead and re-arranged the rocks for the goby + pistol I added. So now it's more a U shape, with a rock in the middle.

So it's been a few months (around 5 really) since I started this tank, and I'm happy with what I've ended up with... I've learnt alot, and now I'm about to tear this down when my next tank is all up and going... Wow, time flies:
This is my blue brain, it's about 2 fists big, but i have big fists...

This is my favorite GSP that I got from Gabe... My first coral (grows in my tank like a weed) and the blue starfish I just picked up from him tonight!!!

I know it's not gorgeous, but I'm pretty **** happy with it after this busy few months ;) (also this is after around 7 weeks of me hardly being at home and my wife looking after my tank)

It's going to be a while before I add anymore, I've also been pretty much set on adding FHI corals only to my tank, although you bring up a good point, and one I'll certainly be using when transferring each piece of coral to my new tank... those sukkas are getting teh dip!

sad to see it go down, but glad to see another in the works. What are you moving them into? I'm about to be transitioning my 100 to a 75rr tank. should look A LOT better though.

I'm moving from my lil ol 55G to a 120G custom tank that I got from saabtech ... it's been cleaned up, and the woods being refinished. It's actually going to be put together a lot differently to my 55 ;)

Waaah... I really liked the wood on saabtech's tank. What are you doing with it?

Just re-varnishing it, and re-sealing it ;) that's it :D so it'll look the same, just maybe be a bit more salt water friendly.

It's going to be a little while before I do much more picture taking, now I'm focused on getting my new tank up and running.

So, I just did some tests, and I'm so proud of my little tank. Lights were off, so Ph is down, but still at around 8.1, 0 nitrate, 0 nitrite, cal fine, alk fine, everything good!! :) First test in a while... and may have skipped a water change or two :P
