So, we have a repairman replacing all of the ducts for our AC....a 2 day job...today was day one.....he leaves and now the darn ac won't blow cold....he came back couldn't figure out what he did wrong and now we have a AC company coming by tomorrow to see what's going on....along with repairman completing his duct installation. lol. The thermostat is new...and is working along with the fan outside....blows super cold...I held a thermometer over it. Got me.!?
In the mean time....we don't have ac running but the house is maintaining at 78 with all the windows closed. We prefer it much cooler and keep our house at 72-74....but we have fans blowing and the tank seems normal....no real swing whatsoever....it's at 81 right now which is what it is normally at during this time.
SOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooo glad it's not the middle of the summer. Man o man that could have been very bad. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

I have a 1/3 chiller sitting in my living room not being used. If you need to borrow it, it's all yours.

Don't you love these good people on MAAST?!?
Rob, this is what we did when our AC went out for a couple of days at the end of August (~100 degrees outside)...
Opened up all the doors, hood, etc. to improve ventilation.
Ran three clip-on fans across the surface of the water 24/7 (2 over DT and 1 over sump).
Killed the lights for a couple days.
Froze around 20 1-ltr bottles of water to have on hand to float in the tank if temps got to 82.
Had JT's number handy in case we needed to take him up on his offer of a chiller loan. :)
Results:
We sweated a lot and did not dare leave our HOT house because we wanted to monitor the tank temps. Frequent showers recommended!
No problems with the tank, corals, etc. whatsoever.
Only had to float a bottle of water once or twice. Temp crept up to 81 on the second day and then just held there.
Good luck and keep us posted!

Yes, everyone is so great. Part of the reason i wanted to post this thread was to just kind of raise some brows and be ready should things turn bad.
Sticking some bottles in the freezer....thx for the tip. I have my fan running 24/7 now...normally just kicks on with MH. It's cool tonight...like lower 70's. I'm so lucky right now.
Ramsey....thanks too.
