Playing with new Lens

Just picked up the Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G ED IF AF-S VR and had to play with it tonight. Still learning but definitely impressed so far, even took some great portraits of my daughter.

Yea, that' the moon coral I got from Clone quite a while back. It and a couple of others were angled really nice for me. The others could be better if I got a better angle on them. That and clean the glass wouldn't hurt.

Thanks for the compliments, I'm actually hoping to use the lens for some portrait work also once I get some decent lights and all. I also picked up the Nikkor 50mm f1.8 D. I wanted to get a couple of fast lenses to start off with and the two seemed to work well together, not to mention the macro capabilities of the 105mm.

I tried to keep them all close and get rid of the buble algae out of the pics. I have a real bubble algae farm going on in the tank. I suppose at least it doesnt' appear to be as destructive as the briopsys was and doesn't choke out the corals. I think I need to just get a dozen or so emeralds in there and let them have fun.

Yea, as you can see from this post not been on much. Been working full time, school full time, and working a little for my old place part time.

Those shots are fantastic. The YWG photo is especially nice. I too just finished a war with bubble algae. I had success with emeralds and manual removal. I also seemed to have a response to pumping up magnesium levels to 1400+, although not much is written about that.
