ok so i got my aquaclear70 from bigals cheap they carry a cheaper version without biomax. I got right to modding it. i used some eggcrate with magnets as baffels, magnets make moving the wall easier and adjustable to put chemi pure or whatever else i want. Cut and glued screen from media hold to front over flow so cheato stays in. had to cut tube to shorten also and last i added the LED fuge light.

Yea the aquaclears are very easily moded, i have a oceanic biocube skimmer might toss in it(lil over kill maybe), im hoping i can put a couple sps pieces with the LED lighting i made, but im looking into building a bigger light or buying one of evilc66 pico lights, or even gettin a new tank from picoaquariums.com

Been busy as all get-out at work -- been a rough month or so.. You got some of the XP-G's from Stephen, right? You'll be able to sustain some hardy SPS under those suckers, no problem :)

....tho the new evil66 fixture and the nanotuners fixture are both QUITE nice... :)

Did you coat the magnets to prevent rusting?

I imagine it'll still be fine -- its not like the picotope is a real deep tank for illuminating :) I've got XR-E's in your old 'cube, and my milli is doing fine (and everything else is growing like mad :))

Hey Chris,

Where did you pick up the magnets? Do they have any larger ones? I was thinking about going back to the DIY rock making a shelf for frag plugs that looks a bit more natural.

Pretty sure he found em on Gaussboys -- they've got lots of sizes/shapes of epoxy-coated magnets... Cheap and quick shipping too :)

I wonder what size I would need that can hold a significant rock through the glass.
