I purchased this large polyped photosynthetic gorgonian from Scientific Coral Farm (captive propagated).
It is Eunicea sp. These are a little skinnier than the Briareum large polyped gorgs.
I should have bought a couple more because I really love it.
Is anybody able to get these locally?
I'd like one or two of these. The one I have appears to be about 7" tall.
I would prefer them in that size range (5-7") over smaller frags, wild collected is fine.

Awesome! Just watch out. Eunicea includes quite a few very different looking kind (like purple ribbons, etc.). Not all Eunicea are the large polyped kind.
Love that purple frilly I got from you by the way! :)

you might also try corky finger gorgonian - sometimes that is what they will call them.

I thought the corky finger was Briareum?
If the Eunicea aren't available I would consider Briareum but Eunicea would be my first choice (I kind of like repetition and clustering of things so matching ones would be nice)
Plus the Eunicea don't take up quite as much real estate. :)

the true corky finger is Briareum, but the wholesalers sometimes misidentify them, and i have seen large polyped Eunicea labeled as corky finger.

Perfect. I am really looking forward to this one. The one I have is just getting more glorious by the day.
