Lost one of my clowns

I lost one of my clown pair. I think the smaller one. I've read about the changing sex etc.

Can I just put another small one in?

It jumped out of the tank :-(

that's bad but at least it's not an illness.
did you see my recent thread on the mesh top? I am really happy with mine.
Under those circumstances I would think another small clown would be fine.
Any idea why it jumped? Do you have tangs or any bigger fish that could terrorize the clowns?
I've had mine for several years and they never jumped. Then I got a Kole tang and my clowns kept jumping into the overflow. Got rid of the Kole and they never jumped again.
