ok, thought this would make for a neat thread. lets post a single non - photosynthetic coral per post with a short description of special care instructions you follow if you would like. i know there are lots of people who are now keeping these kinds of corals so post up everyone!

i'll start with this black sun coral. i have only had it a couple of weeks, but have seen some health improvements as it has already healed up where it incurred damage during shipping. it is staying open more and more and really seems to like the live baby brine i feed every night. it doesnt seem to respond much to the frozen food i feed except when i directly feed it PE mysis.

excellent info. I've been tempting mine with the same stuff I feed the orange suns but I'll be sure to offer some baby brine today. :)

my suns seem to prefer big meaty things like mysis and bloodworms. I could easily feed a few cubes to the suns alone. Very easy to feed. Tentacles grab it well, they eat fast and are ready for more.

balanophyllia just picked these up couple weeks ago with my buddy Karin, they are very timid only fully open at night or when I squirt a lil food on them, I feed them small chunks of krill which the love and also some frozen "coral food" mixed with "coral frenzy" pic taken last night

My chili coral. Seems to really like rotifers and oyster egg for frozen, and live baby brine.

can we do more than 1 post per person?

Yellow finger gorgonian
a larger polyped NPS gorg. Prawn eggs appear to be a really good size for this one. :)

I try to keep them happy with good feedings but not every day, everyother day or so, I noticed since reducing my feedings by skipping a day my tank seems happier

That's interesting! (I don't think can keep myself from feeding them though. lol)
It totally makes sense though that they would be more eager with extended polyps, etc. and perhaps better water quality. Looks great, Chris!

nice one chris!

i got this sponge about a month ago from aquarium designs and it has already grown about an inch onto the rock in some places. seems to really like the mix of live phyto and freshly hatched brine along with the other frozen foods i have been feeding. it is in the lowest flow area of the tank, which worried me at first, but it doesnt seem to care :)

The heads when all the way extended are over a quarter each, and tentacles are long, bout an inch to an inch and half. I bought it as a single head about 6-7 months ago. Now have 3 full size heads and one new baby...
