View Full Version : Propogated Coral for Swap Meet!

JeffCo
Mon, 8th Mar 2010, 11:41 PM
Before I knew we were having a swap meet in March, 3 months ago I setup a propagation section inside my tank. I had to take a section of rock out because it had been overgrown by ricordia and anthelia, so while I was cleaning/recuring the rock, I setup a 14" x 32" section of eggcrate inside my tank. It worked out very nicely as some of my corals were starting to get overgrown.

Full tank shot with prop area on left:

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/JeffCo/For%20Sale%203-8-10/Full-Tank-Shot.jpg

It still left me with plenty of room for fish and corals. The last 3 months I have been fragging most of the larger corals in my tank and attaching them on frag plugs. Currently I have the rack full of about 130 frags. Most of these have been propagating for 2-3 months and have pretty significant growth. This makes them much hardier than the fresh cut frags that I usually sell.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/JeffCo/For%20Sale%203-8-10/Frag-Rack-Shot.jpg

So I have for sale about 130 frags from 32 different mother colonies that I have been growing ranging from 6 - 2 years. Took some updated pictures, some pics are still bad, but the best I could do.

All of these frags will be picked up at the Frag swap on March 14th. Most of these frags will be limited to the amount I have listed below next to their name and price. So, if you want something specific, you need to let me know now and reserve with paypal. When paying with paypal, please inlude the 3% fee. Pm me for info.

Purchasing before the meeting makes it much easier for both of us
1) don't have to mess with money at the swap
2) pay first you get the biggest frags
3) I'll have it all ready for you grouped together in a zip lock.

***Info***
I only sell frags about twice a year to give my mother colonies time to grow out. I've sold many times and can be trusted, search the threads for feedback.
I'm not doing the buy 3 get 1 free this time because about all of these are propagated, mounted on plugs and the frags are well estabilished.
All frags are healthy and pest free, but I always recommend that you dip all your corals.
All frags will be in 4 MIL fish bags with rubber band. (just bought these)

Outlined below are the frags and prices. I have added a few new ones since the last time I sold frags. Pictures to follow.

32. Rose Bubble Tip Anemone
One of the centerpieces in my tank. I've had this RBTA for about 7-8 years and it has split on its own about 6-7 times. Last year at TMAC I was inspired by Calfo's speech on propagation in which he spoke specifically about anemones and even split one in his presentation.

So, I took an old 30 gallon long that I had sitting around, along with a few other pieces of equipment from "past projects" and started a separate system to propagate my anemone. I set it all up about 7-8 months ago and introduced 1 anemone to the tank. (a split from the one in my main tank). It split on it's own several times.

A couple of months ago the 30 gallon started leaking, very slowly at first now it's getting worse. At this point I just want the 3 anemones in there to go to good homes. They have been in this setup now for quite some time under power compact lighting. They range in size when fully open between 4"-6". They are healthy and eating mysis shrimp. Under better lighting conditions they will brighten up. The tentacles also extend fully when the pump is running. Let me know if you have any questions. Please pre order these as I do not want to bring these if they are not going to be purchased. Thanks.

All 3 in tank:

Nice collection, I really don't have too much room right now to add extra until I redo the rockwork where the propagation area is now. But I will have those two for you at the swap. That was the last of the pink tulips I had cut and encrusted. If anyone is interested in picking up one at the swap, post here and I can fresh cut and mount some more today. Thanks.

Thanks Jeff for the RBTA.

You definitely got one of the nicest tanks I have ever seen. Its really cool to see a reef grown out like that.

Folks I would jump on these frags or should I say mini colonies, they look real nice and are quite large. Not your normal frag size.

Good luck with your sales and thanks again.

Jeff does have one of the nicest BIG tanks around. You don't get the chance too often to see colonies the size of dinner plates. Jeff has some of the nicest and to see several multi-layered Efflos to beat...

Hey Jeff, Brian here. You may not remember me but me and my girlfriend Kathy and I came out to your place and got some frags Halloween night before last. Anyway sorry for the late notice but I've been on the fence about coming to the swap. Was thinking that I really kind of wanted to check out your frags at the there before deciding for sure which I wanted but am sure I wanted to get some of your Scuba Steve euphillia and didn't know if you were bringining any without advance notice. So thought I would let you know now. Of course I realize it's late notice, I'm not reserving with Paypal and you may not even get this. Anyway hope to see you there.
